Mahaska Health Partnership employs a full time Diabetes Educator, Sharon Ferguson, RN, who has received extensive education to assist you in managing your disease. In addition to inpatient and outpatient counseling, Sharon teaches classes and leads support groups to assist you and your caregivers in living with diabetes.

Diabetes WISE – (Wellness In Self Management) is a program designed to improve the health and wellness of people with diabetes. Professional educators instruct individuals and their loved ones on the basics of successfully living with diabetes. This class is offered during various times throughout the year.

Diabetes Support Group – Meets the second Wednesday of every month in the Cedar Bluff Learning Center, accessed through entrance #3 on our campus.

Diabetes Prevention Program – An educational class for those at high risk for developing Type 2 diabetes. This program is offered during various times throughout the year.
