Hospice Serenity House

 Serenity-House-patient-w-Mary

The Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity House opened in July 2010 after an outpouring of community support through a capital campaign. Although hospice care has always been centered around the home, there are instances when a patient’s symptoms can no longer be managed and the patient must be moved to an inpatient facility.

The Serenity House is staffed 24-hours per day, seven days per week by a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurses’ Aide who are specially trained in the unique needs of hospice patients. Hospice volunteers also play an important role in hosting families and assisting staff with daily activities in the Hospice Serenity House.
