Not sleeping well can affect your health, work and relationships. Studies indicate that 30 to 50% of Americans, including some children, have difficulty sleeping. Some common complaints that lead to a sleep study include:

  • Excessive Snoring/Suspected Sleep Apnea – People with sleep apnea usually snore and may stop breathing just a few times or hundreds of times during sleep. Sleep apnea is treated with the use of a CPAP breathing device worn during sleep.
  • Restless Leg Syndrome – Is a disorder in which there is an urge or need to move the legs to stop unpleasant sensations. There are prescription medications to treat RLS.
  • Excessive Day time sleepiness – Can be caused due to drowsiness associated with sleep apnea or narcolepsy.
  • Inability to sleep – Also known as insomnia, can be caused by a variety of symptoms but usually results in the inability to fall asleep or difficulty staying asleep.
