Our community can take comfort in knowing that, in the event of an emergency, the Mahaska Health Partnership Emergency Department is nearby with highly qualified staff who are specially trained to provide personalized, skilled care during traumatic situations. 24-hours a day, seven days a week. A fulltime emergency physician is onsite, along with dedicated RNs and a paramedic level ambulance service managing three units.

The MHP Emergency Department is a Level III or Area Trauma Center. The specially trained emergency physicians are on-site around the clock.  All physicians are certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support. In addition, all staff and physicians have extensive certifications in the areas of Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Pediatric Life Support as well as Neonatal Resuscitation. The emergency services staff have received training in Pre-hospital  Trauma Life Support and are required to complete annual recertification in trauma care. Emergency nurses are all certified by the Emergency Nurses Association for the Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum.
