Podiatrist Mark Beers, DPM, practices full time in the MHP Medical Group. He has been caring for feet in the Oskaloosa area for more than 25 years (said 20 in 2011, okay to say?). Dr. Beers partners closely with the Certified Diabetes Education and Wound Ostomy Care professionals, providing an all-encompassing approach to foot health. In his spare time, Dr. Beers enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and trap shooting.
Iowa native, Dr. Alyssa Zacharjasz was drawn to the healthcare field at a young age. After spending most of her teen years volunteering and working at Green County Medical Center, Medicap Pharmacy and MacFarland Clinic, Dr. Zacharjasz knew she wanted to dedicate her career to helping patients and caring for families. She graduated from Des Moines University with a Doctorate in Podiatry Medicine and went on to complete her residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. There she served as the chief resident for her final year before joining the Mahaska Health family.
Dr. Zacharjasz believes in a conservative approach to treatment whenever possible and encourages patient involvement to determine the best plan of care. She is passionate about helping her patients return to the lifestyle and activities they enjoy.
She has surgical and non-surgical interests in bunion and hammertoe treatment and correction, ligament and tendon repair, ankle instability, sports medicine, foot and ankle trauma and fracture care, foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, and foot arthritis.
When Dr. Zacharjasz is not helping patients, she enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, camping and volunteering in the community.
