Partners in Healthcare 2019 1

As the fundraising arm of Mahaska Health, the Mahaska Health Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and increasing regional healthcare accessibility for our friends, neighbors and the communities we serve. We are a volunteer board who does this by promoting gifting to support the financial needs of the hospital.

We need your support as a partner in healthcare to fulfill our mission.

Areas to support

With each contribution, you are invited to select which area of need you would like to support. These areas include:

Greatest Need – Your support allows the Foundation to direct funds where there is the greatest need, including such things as building and equipment repairs and purchases, enhancing current programs and services, and expanding our healthcare outreach.

Hospice – End-of-life care focuses on the patient’s comfort and making the most of the time that remains. Hospice addressed the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones. Mahaska Health Hospice cares for patient of all ages both in the patient’s home and at the Serenity House, a six-bed residential hospice facility on the Mahaska Health campus.

Nursing Scholarships – In 2019, Mahaska Health Nurse Michele Manternach of Oskaloosa was awarded a $3,000 scholarship for tuition assistance to William Penn University’s RN to BSN Program. Your support is needed to expand scholarship offerings so more Mahaska Health employees are encouraged and inspired to continue their nursing careers locally.

Other – You may also request that your contribution be used in an area that is not listed.

Tribute gifts – A memorial, tribute of honorary gift made to Mahaska Health can be a testimony to a life that has passed on as well as a loving way to recognize someone still living and show appreciation for their impact on your life. Gifts can also be made in celebration of a milestone, such as holidays, birthdays or anniversaries. The Mahaska Health Foundation recognizes the heartfelt honor with which these gifts are donated. This is truly a caring way to recognize someone special while also providing support to friends, neighbors and community members needing vital healthcare services close to home.
