Status: Full-time, M-F 8am – 4:30pm.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, 1-3 years of finance/accounting healthcare experience a plus.
Job Requirements: Comprehensive knowledge of accounting systems. Demonstrated General Ledger and balance sheet experience. Must have strong experience with Microsoft applications, including above-average excel skills (experience compare, analyzing, and summarizing large data sets with V-Lookups and Pivot tables, and filtering them with conditional and nested If/Then statements). Attention to detail and deadline-oriented. Proven problem solving ability and strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, Project and time management. Data entry and general math and logic skills needed.
List of Duties: Assist with month-end close process. Prepares and post monthly journal entries, as well as bank transactions and reconciliations. Timely and accurate completion of payroll (500 employees). Process payroll taxes, quarter and year end payroll process including W-2’s preparation. Maintains accurate Balance Sheet account reconciliations (including credit cards and bank reconciliations) supported by detailed backup. Assists with month – and year-end closings, as well as year-end audit. Tracks fixed asset activity in accounting software according to MHP policy. Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Maintains financial security by following internal controls. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. Special project as deemed necessary. Maintains financial records for the MHP Foundation. Assist in the preparation of fiscal year end audit and cost report work papers.
