Orthopaedic Joint Care 30The hip is one of the main weight-bearing joints in your body. While hip pain can be caused by deformity or by direct injury, like trauma or a sports injury, the most common cause of hip pain is osteoarthritis (OA) also known as degenerative joint disease (DJD). If you have not experienced adequate results from medication and other treatments, our hip specialist may be able to guide you to a treatment or procedure that may give you the pain relief you long for.

If you require total hip replacement due to severe cartilage damage on your leg bone and socket, we are well-equipped to provide a treatment program that effectively restores function, improves mobility and most importantly, relieves pain.

Hip surgery services offered:

  • Total hip replacement
  • Partial hip replacement
  • Hip fracture fixation/pinning
  • Arthroscopic hip surgery
  • Anterior hip surgery

We work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan incorporating various forms of physical therapy, muscle re-education techniques, and education to help you decrease pain and improve strength and mobility.

Are you suffering from chronic shoulder pain?

Orthopaedic Joint Care 34Although the shoulder joint is very mobile, the shoulder joint is also less stable, relying on just four muscles around the rotator cuff to help move and provide stability. It’s these muscles that are a common source of pain. Conditions that may require surgery include rotator cuff tears, impingement, shoulder fractures and dislocations.

Minimally invasive surgery options

Our Orthopaedic fellowship trained shoulder specialists use the very latest arthroscopic techniques to repair shoulder problems and relieve the associated joint pain and stiffness.

Shoulder services offered:

  • Rotator cuff repair
  • Labral/cartilage repair
  • Dislocation/shoulder stabilization
  • Bone spur removal
  • Removal of loose bone or cartilage
  • Fracture repair
  • Tendon/ligament repair
