Mahaska Health Welcomes Education Coordinator

July 15, 2020

Mahaska Health is excited to reintroduce Michelle Williams as Mahaska Health’s new Education Coordinator. She began this position in June, however she has been working at Mahaska Health since 2012 as a Registered Nurse in Surgical Services. Patients may have seen her working in pre- and post-operation in one day surgery, the recovery room, circulating and scrubbing in the operating room, or administering sedation to endoscopic patients. Prior to nursing, Michelle worked as a Financial Aid Director and College Presidential Secretary.

Due to a combination of her outgoing personality, creativity, and her previous work experience both inside and outside of the hospital setting, Michelle believes that she will greatly benefit the Mahaska Health Community. Michelle was originally inspired to enter the world of healthcare because of her love of helping people, she is now inspired by another passion, teaching.

In her new role, Michelle will coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate various learning programs that Mahaska Health offers. She will also be responsible for keeping up-to-date records of mandatory classes and certifications required for all Mahaska Health employees. She will work closely with employees so they can maintain the proper training required for their job.

Michelle is originally from Eldon, Iowa where she lived in the home used to paint “American Gothic,” for a number of years. When Michelle is not working, she enjoys playing an active role in her husband’s church, spending time with family, adoring her two grandchildren, and practicing her photography.
