Ron Spurlock received a custom-made knee replacement from Mahaska Health Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Neil Schwimley. Here’s what Ron had to say about his experience:

“For over 45 years, I’ve struggled with knee pain and have been limited in doing the things I love doing. When I was 18, I had a knee surgery that left me still unable to fully use my leg.

Before coming to Mahaska Health, I wasn’t sure my knee would ever be normal again, but my daughter had her shoulder surgery done here and told me I had to make an appointment with the Mahaska Health Orthopaedics department, because they could help me!

I’ve been constantly amazed by the care I’ve received from Dr. Schwimley, the orthopaedic nurses, and the physical therapy team here at Mahaska Health. Dr. Schwimley provided excellent care, was down-to-earth, and gave specific answers to all of my questions.

Now I’m looking forward to being back to doing what I love – riding in the Jeep I restored, riding motorcycles, and hunting. I’m so happy I decided to receive care at Mahaska Health!”
