Run in the Sun

Mahaska Health Foundation 6The 9th Annual Run in the Sun on Aug. 3, 2019, was a huge success! Close to 350 participants, ages 3 months old to 87 years old, joined in the 5K run and 1-mile walk that started and ended at the Lacy Recreation Complex Community Stadium and went on the Recreation Trail.

More than 47 Corporate and Major Sponsors, along with 14 Partner and Community Sponsors, helped raise more than $19,000 in sponsorships alone. With participant entry fees and after expenses, the event raised over $21,000 for the Serenity House.

Foundation Board Chair Sandy Bailey said a new feature for the race was Tribute Signs, available for purchase as a way to honor or memorialize someone special. The Tribute Signs raised and extra $900. “The Foundation Board is very thankful for the tremendous community support we continue to receive for Run in the Sun,” Sandy said.

About the Foundation

The Mahaska Health Foundation was formed to meet the needs of our community – today and in the years to come.  The Foundation was established in 1994 to serve as an independent board and financial resource for the improvement of health care at Mahaska Health and the communities we serve.   The Foundation is a designated 501(c)3) nonprofit. Mahaska Health Foundation is responsible for contributions, bequests, and memorials directed to Mahaska Health.  Thanks to generous investors and supporters, our facilities are continuously being improved, technology updated, services expanded, and lives in our communities are impacted for the better.
