Dr. Brad Hiatt who has served the Mahaska Health Community for over 15 years. Dr. Hiatt was born and raised in Iowa, and completed his undergraduate and residency at the University of Iowa, and serves as our Cancer Care and Infusion Center physician. As an Iowa native, Dr. Hiatt attended medical school at Des Moines University. He is a Board Certified, Fellowship-trained, Oncology & Hematology Specialist. Dr. Hiatt completed his residency at University of Iowa and Iowa Methodist Medical Center, and did his fellowship at University of Iowa Divisions of Hematology, Oncology, and Blood and Bone Marrow Transplantation.
His professional interests and clinical expertise lie in the areas of breast cancer, lymphoma, adult bone marrow, and peripheral blood stem cell transplants. Dr. Hiatt is a well-known expert and has served in prestigious positions such as the John Stoddard Board, Iowa Methodist Medical Center Cancer Committee Chair, ACoS Physician Liaison, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Board, Above and Beyond Cancer, and DMU Assistant Professor. He also serves as a Youth Group Leader.
Dr. Hiatt truly has a heart for people and that has driven him to experience many amazing moments with patients including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with 19 cancer survivors as members of Above and Beyond Cancer. He works with patients at Mahaska Health Partnership CCIC on Thursdays every week.
