Prior to entering medical residency, Dr. Ivy Melgarejo briefly worked as an emergency humanitarian response doctor for Doctors Without Borders and Save the Children and as a research doctor for the Philippine Cardio Genomics Project. She trained in the beautiful island of Hawaii for Internal Medicine and went to Pittsburgh for Nephrology and Transplant Nephrology. She is based at Iowa Kidney Physicians, Methodist Plaza office in Des Moines, where she has been practicing since July of 2021.
