Matthew Gritters, MD, obtained his bachelor’s in biology at Trinity Christian College, Chicago, Illinois, and his Medical Degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed his Residency training in Family Medicine at Mercy Family Medicine Residency-North Iowa. Dr. Gritters is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and AFP Boarded and began his medical career in Family Practice and then transitioned to Emergency Services.
Dr. Gritters has an extensive background in leadership and service, leading as the Chair of the General Medicine Department, Marion County Board of Health, Hospice Co-Medical Director, Clinic Administrative Council, Iowa EMS Advisory Committee Board Member, Vice President of Medical Executive Committee, and ER Medical Director. His commitment to leadership continues through his role as Chief Medical Information Officer addition to practicing emergency medicine at Mahaska Health.
