Nathan Schneider, DO, an orthopaedic specialist raised in Iowa, earned his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Des Moines University – College of Osteopathic Medicine. During his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields, IL, Dr. Schneider trained at multiple hospitals throughout the Chicago area, gaining extensive experience in orthopaedic specialties, including Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Surgery, Joint Replacement Surgery, Shoulder Surgery, Elbow Surgery, Hand and Microsurgery, Foot and Ankle Surgery, Knee Surgery, Hip Surgery, and Fracture Care & Reconstruction. His extensive skill set brings valuable support to the orthopaedics and sports medicine team at Mahaska Health.
Dr. Schneider is excited to be a part of Mahaska Health’s mission to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to rural Iowa residents. His practice is driven by his strong ties to the community and his genuine connection with patients. As a physician, Schneider believes that patients should be involved in shared medical decisions to ensure the best possible result. Patients can expect him to provide the time, attention, and education they need.
Dr. Schneider will be joining the Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine team at Mahaska Health, utilizing the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution for knee replacement surgery. This innovative technology utilizes advanced, kinematically designed implants, data-driven enabling technologies, and patient-specific surgical techniques for precise and effective outcomes.
Nathan Schneider and his wife Lesley, an Oskaloosa native, are excited to settle down in Oskaloosa. In his spare time, Dr. Schneider enjoys hiking, bike riding, home projects, and gardening.
