Ronald Collins, MD is a board-certified Hospitalist at Mahaska Health specializing in Internal Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine in Iselin, New Jersey and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria OSF-Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. He brings extensive brings extensive experience in patient care and medical leadership.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Collins serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard, where he holds senior medical leadership roles including Brigade Surgeon and Senior Flight Physician. His service includes multiple domestic and overseas deployments such as a Battalion Surgeon, Flight Surgeon, and Role 2 Field Surgeon, providing medical oversight and trauma care in urgent environments. He holds advanced certifications in trauma care, cardiac life support, disaster response, and combat casualty care. We are very grateful for his service in the military.

Born and raised in Iowa and growing up on a farm, Dr. Collins values community, service, and small-town connections. He and his wife, originally from New England, enjoy Oskaloosa, are proud parents of their two kids, proud grandparents, and enjoy time with family, the outdoors, and travel.
