Shawn Richmond, MD, Family Medicine Medical Director, has been serving the Mahaska Health community in areas of primary care since 2000. Originally, from Ottumwa, he chose to practice at Mahaska Health in order to be close to family and because of the great atmosphere of the community. When caring for patients, his philosophy is to look at each patient as though they were his own family member. He truly embodies what it means to be a family practice physician. Dr. Richmond enjoys the small Oskaloosa community and enjoys seeing patients at the store or community events.
Dr. Richmond and his wife enjoy traveling, spending time with family, children, grandchildren, and going on morning walks with their dogs.
