Stephen Mineart, MD 1

Stephen Mineart, MD, has served the Oskaloosa community as a primary care physician since 1987. Dr. Mineart was drawn to the medical field because of his love of science and biology and enjoys building a longitudinal relationship with his patients, learning who they are and hearing their stories. In his more than 32 years at Mahaska Health, Dr. Mineart has delivered babies, watched those children grow up to become adults, and then had the privilege of delivering their children. He desires to be in a partnership with patients to make and keep them healthy. Providing FAA physicals for pilots is a special part of Dr. Mineart’s practice as he is a licensed pilot himself and enjoys being in the skies on a regular basis.

Dr. Mineart came to Oskaloosa because the community shared his values, and he has remained here for the same reason. He and his wife have three children and five grandchildren who all live in Iowa. For fun, Dr. Mineart enjoys bluegrass music and traveling to the southern regions of the US with his wife – especially during the winter months to escape the Iowa cold.
