Tonya Johannes, DNP, ARNP-BC has been a nurse practitioner at Mahaska Health since 2016 and has served the healthcare field since 2003 in nursing home, hospital and clinical settings. Johannes grew up in Albia, IA and chose the medical field after spending an entire summer in a hospital helping to care for her grandmother. She provides healthcare for all ages, from 6 months to elderly and has a team approach to medicine with a desire to develop a health care plan together with the patient. Tonya enjoys taking care of growing families. She has always been motivated to obtain the highest level of information and education for her patients benefit, receiving her CNA, LPN and RN from Indian Hills Community College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Iowa and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Maryville University. Johannes completed her formal education with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) through the University of Iowa.
Tonya and her husband have 2 children and enjoy spending time in the community and spending weekends camping with family.
