Alyssa Zacharjasz, DPM, AACFAS, FACFAOM, has been serving with Mahaska Health since 2018. She is a small town Iowa native and has always wanted to practice medicine in a rural setting. Alyssa attended the University of Iowa as well as Des Moines University before completing a rigorous surgical residency program at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. Choosing to practice at Mahaska Health and make Oskaloosa home was an easy decision for her because of the warm and inviting atmosphere of both the hospital and community. To Alyssa, the most fulfilling part of her day is earning the trust of her patients while handling their medical concerns. She enjoys her life and understands the importance of working together with patients to return them to the activities they also enjoy.
Being active is an important part of Alyssa’s healthy lifestyle. She enjoys long walks on the Oskaloosa trail with her husband and golden retriever (Luna), as well as reading, camping, yoga, concerts and spending time with family, friends and fur babies.
