A Legacy of Love: Honoring the Cubit Family at the 14th Annual Run in the Sun
On August 2, 2025, the Mahaska Health Foundation and Hospice Serenity House welcomed hundreds of runners, walkers, and volunteers for the 14th Annual Run in the Sun. This year’s honored family gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Walter Cubit, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Walter’s daughters, Carole Comstock and Lorri Grubb, shared how the Serenity House provided comfort, compassion, and meaningful moments during Walter’s time there.
